Wildlife in Garhwal

Garhwal region, in Uttaranchal state is blessed by Mother Nature, with its beautiful valleys, snow capped mountain peaks, lush forests and hundreds of animal and bird species. Since this is a very fragile eco system, which needs delicate care, Uttarakhand boasts of some of the most well preserved, and  finest wildlife sanctuaries and national parks in India. Some of the wildlife found here are as follows- Elephant,  Tiger,  Leopard, Bear, Chital, Sambar, Wild boar, Kakar, Python,  Monitor lizard, Snow Leopard, Himalayan Bear, Musk Deer, Pheasant, Jungle cat, Fishing cat, Himalayan black bear, Deer, Crested serpent eagle, Osprey, Blackwinged kite, Shikra, Spotted eagle, Lammergaier,  Griffon, Babblers to name a few!
